Beginnings and Endings … the New Naturopath in town
It’s funny how big changes are happy and sad at the same time. Doctors are quite renowned for their ‘good news and bad news’ announcements. Whenever we hear this, we welcome and rejoice the good news but then comes the bad news. We hold our breath and the seconds become painfully unbearable as we wait.
Many of you who have visited Clinic in the Woods in the past years came in search of answers about your health. As your naturopathic doctor, I was often humbled by your trust and belief in natural approaches to health care. You chose Naturopathic medicine or Bowen Therapy or Buteyko breathing and many other non-mainstream solutions. As your doctor, I hope that I may have met your expectations and delivered the kind of health care that mattered to you. I feel quite honoured, too, that you chose to drive down a dirt road with a lot of potholes sometimes to the clinic.
I have been in practice in Erin a mere 7 years. My, how time flies. It is with great joy that I remember my first patient. This year has brought huge changes for my family. My sons have gone to university, my daughter is getting married and my husband has been recruited to a wonderful job opportunity in the U.S. All of these belong to the good news category. The bad news is that I will be leaving my practice at the end of March.
HOWEVER, the good news is that the wonderful Frances Turk will be assuming the practice at Clinic in the Woods.
New! Frances Turk drturk@clinicinthewoods.com
Frances brings to the clinic exceptional experience and expertise. She is a trained Bowen practitioner, has a deep interest in water therapies such as the existing Constitutional Hydrotherapy and Watsu therapy, and brings a strong interest in acupuncture to her practice. I have known Dr. Frances for the past 7 years and have found her to be one of the most compassionate and passionate people I have ever met. I am confident that you will share my deep respect for her naturopathic skills as I have.
To ensure a good transition, Frances and I will be in constant contact. I want to assure you that your concerns and needs will be met. I will do whatever it takes to make sure of that. However, I won’t completely vanish. For example, if anyone wants to participate in a Buteyko breathing course, I will be offering one at Clinic in the Woods in June, 2007. If you are interested in the upcoming Buteyko Course which I will be leading, just get in touch with Frances using the same phone number as always (519-833-2580).
There will be other workshops and other health projects that Frances and I will be collaborating together on. The icing on the cake on those return trips, I bet, will be not only the opportunity to see many of you again, but also the chance to visit Big Bear and my llama girls who will stay here at Firecircle Farm where they love to be. I wish you perfect health and a most wonderful spring season just ahead.
